Huggins Lecture Series
Dr. Charles Huggins, the first Director of the Ben May Department for Cancer Research at the University of Chicago, was awarded the Nobel Prize for discovering that hormones are required for breast and prostate cancer growth, a discovery that led to the design of more effective cancer treatments. To celebrate Dr. Huggins great discovery, and recent advances in cancer research, we cordially invite you to the Fifth Annual Charles B. Huggins Lectures, a series of eight lectures describing some of the frontiers of modern science. The lectures are designed for the University community and the public at large. You need not have a background in biological sciences; we appeal to your curiosity and invite you to share the excitement of modern scientific research.
